A turnover checklist for Costa del Sol holiday-rental hosts

Between check-out and check-in there's little time. A room-by-room checklist so every guest in your Marbella rental arrives to the same spotless home.

A bright bedroom with freshly made white linen

Why a checklist beats good intentions

On a busy changeover day, the jobs that get forgotten are always the same ones: the inside of the microwave, the hair under the bed, the half-empty bottle in the fridge. Guests notice them, and they end up in reviews.

A written checklist, followed in the same order every time, makes the result independent of who is cleaning and how rushed the day is.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Strip every bed, even ones that look unused, and remake them with fresh linen. Check under beds and behind bedside tables. Lay out fresh towels.

In bathrooms, clean the shower glass, taps and toilet thoroughly, wipe the mirror streak-free, empty the bins and restock toilet paper and any toiletries you provide.

Kitchen and living areas

Empty the fridge of anything guests left behind and wipe the shelves. Clean the oven, hob and microwave inside and out, and check that cupboards and the dishwasher are empty and clean.

Vacuum and mop all floors, wipe surfaces and switches, and check that the remote controls, Wi-Fi details and house guide are where the next guest expects them.

Before you lock the door

Walk through the home once more as if you were the next guest arriving. Open windows to air the rooms, then close them, and check the air conditioning works.

When check-out and check-in fall on the same day, Lavanda offers a rush turnaround, and we send photos of the finished rooms so you know the home is ready.
